This award winning, natural Earl Grey tea, is wonderfully aromatic and very popular. This is a light tea, pale gold in colour with the flavour of natural oil (as opposed to synthetic), of Bergamot (a small Italian citrus fruit).

The tea, a flowery broken orange pekoe, comes from a fairly traded estate, east of Nuwara Eliya on the Uda Pussellawa mountain range. A medium-bodied tea with a subtle character.

Ideal to drink any time of the day. Best drunk black or with a splash of milk. A most memorable Earl Grey.

Making your perfect cup of Earl Grey

Use fresh cold water, preferably filtered in hard water areas.

Heat the water to boiling point, Warm the tea pot.

Generally use one teaspoon of leaf tea per person plus one for the pot. Some may like to increase or decrease the quantity of tea leaf per person to suit their taste.

Pour the water on to the leaf tea with enough force to really stir the leaves in the pot.

Allow the tea to brew for 3-5 minutes or according to your taste.

Lengthen the brewing time slightly in hard water areas or if you want a stronger taste.
